Clinical overview

The MDLYZ06 rebound tonometer represents a significant advancement in non-invasive intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement. Utilizing rebound technology, this device eliminates the need for topical anesthesia while delivering clinically accurate results across the full diagnostic range of 3–70 mmHg. The measurement principle relies on a lightweight probe that gently contacts the cornea and rebounds, with the rebound velocity directly correlating to IOP. This approach is particularly valuable for patients with corneal sensitivity, contact lens wearers, and pediatric populations where anesthesia avoidance is preferred.

The MDLYZ06 excels in high-volume screening environments and routine glaucoma monitoring. Its dual measurement modes (vertical and horizontal) accommodate patient positioning constraints and ensure reliable readings regardless of head posture. Wireless infrared thermal printer integration enables seamless data capture and patient record documentation, reducing manual transcription errors and improving workflow efficiency in busy ophthalmic practices.

Reliable rebound measurement

Repeatability has been good across a range of pressures and it is far easier on children than air-puff devices. Alignment can be fiddly with deep-set eyes.

Dr. Beatrice Lindqvist, MDVerified buyerJan 24, 2026

Quick, comfortable IOP readings

The rebound probe needs no anaesthetic drops and readings correlate well with applanation on our glaucoma follow-ups. Patients barely register the measurement, which improves compliance.

Dr. Lauren Ashworth, MDVerified buyerAug 12, 2024

Handy screening tonometer

Fast to acquire six readings and the averaging reduces operator variability nicely. Probe base changes are cheap enough but do add up over a busy list.
