Clinical overview
The Suture Laab is a single-use sterile instrument designed for arthroscopic soft tissue repair in shoulder surgery. Each configuration features a curved tip optimized for Bankart, SLAP, and rotator cuff repairs. The instrument comes preloaded with a nitinol wire loop that serves as a suture shuttle, enabling efficient passage of suture material through soft tissue with minimal trauma.
The sharp tip and small-diameter shaft penetrate soft tissue effortlessly, while the reinforced shaft resists bending during the procedure. After tissue penetration, the loop is deployed and retrieved through a cannula using a Crochet Hook or Suture Retriever-Manipulator. A suture strand or tail from a previously placed anchor is placed in the loop, and pulling the opposite end delivers the suture through tissue and out the cannula—streamlining the repair workflow.
